Just don't let the captain of the ship sail it too close to shore so everybody can wave!  Too much effort put into surviving to go down with the ship!

SpecialK - that cracks me up.  I think about that from time to time.  For example, I have put up with too much cancer crap to do (blank).  I laughed out loud!

    SpecialK , I concur !!

However, the Captain of this cruise knows he is carrying hundreds of WOMEN who are not afraid to speak up for themselves and that should make he want to be on his best behavior!! :)

Last's years Cruise Ship Captain felt like he had many 'mothering hens' aboard!  so, the last night of the cruise he sang to some of them at dinner. It was special.

ILBoysMom - I have started to do that too.  I used to be one of those people who never said "no" to enough stuff - not anymore!

    Laurie - Nice!

Yeah for you both: ILBoysMom and SpecialK..

I think one of the hardest things to do is to boundarize my life. I fight myself between feeling selfish for saying no and knowing I need to say no for my self and my family. Guess you could say I am learning to build fence and mark my boundary.

I am inspired by those that have their fence built ..  I am still working on mine .

Laurie - it is a work in progress always!  And often the fence keeps changing!  Don't feel like the Lone Ranger! I spent a lot of my life trying to do it all, and be it all, to everyone.  It did cause me a lot of stress and kept me from being "in the moment" a lot of the time.  I am lucky that my kids are grown (sort of!) so I have been able to naturally let go of a lot of obligations having to do with them, like sports and PTA, etc.
