Massaging scar tissue

I am currently recovering from a single mastectomy (right side) on 12/12.  Luckily, no chemo for me, just 5 years of exemestrane.  I'm working on massaging the scar below the incision ...... it feels like the tube when the drains were in.  If anyone has any advice on how to massage (pressure, direction, etc.), frequency of massage, or anything else helpful.  I'd appreciate it.

Hi Killi, hope your recovery is going well. My single mx was in oct. i went to pt and found it very helpful in learning how to massage the remaining tissue and scar. You are probably still healing right now so your BS or PS office should be helpful in telling you what is normal at this stage in the healing process.
