Lung Mets, could it be

Options

happy new year to all of you, hoping that it will bring joy to all of us, and ZERO worrisom.

I did my routine 3 month check-up, my CA27.26 came normal and even lower from last time, all liver function tests are normal.

A few days later, a had a cold and was short of breath, I told my doc, who rushed me to CT!! The CT report said I have linear densities in the right lung (that is where I recieved radiation and mastectomy), it also said a 0.5cm nodular density in the right lung.

It said two low attenuations in the liver.

My medical oncologist Dr who I follow with him said he thinks this is a normal report, and he sees nothing bothersome!!!I talked to him a llot and he said he is not concerned, and only when I come for my 3 month review he will CT again to see what's going on cause now this does not give him any indications to anything.

The liver thing I had it showing since Jan 2011, I did this CT Jan 2012 which is a year later. My dr. said if it was something it would have progressed by now, so probably cysts or hemengioma.

My radiation onclologist Dr. Loves images and wants everything to be looked at to an extent she really freaks me out.

My question is: how many of you had such similar reports, or have past through this experience.

Shall I wait another 3 month, or do the CT now. My medical onco. is not rushed, he said what makes you comfortable do it.

It is worth mentioning that in the 1st CT in Jan 2011 they said there was a small nodul, which they did not see in this report. does that means nodules can disappear, if they are not serious

I need your HELP

Many people have a few spots here or there in their lungs which are benign.  And things may or may not show up in a CT because it is a series of x-ray "slices".  Whether something that IS there shows up or how big it is depends on where the slice cut through it (or missed it completely).  Therefore, some variation in the size of a spot from scan to scan doe NOT necessarily mean that it is growing   I DO have lung mets which I have been watching for awhile as I do not have large tumor burden to contend with.  You could get a  second opinion from another doctor, or If you are too nervous to wait you could ask whether the "nodule" could be biopsied.  Deep cleansing breaths.
