Margaret,  Good to hear from you and I wish you well on your upcoming surgery. I am doing better and better with time.  Someone asked previously on this thread about riding a bike and I know I could do that now, but haven't gotten mine out yet, but I have been active the last few weeks.  Keep us posted on you as you proceed.  I noticed you had a lumpectomy on your mx side.  Could you tell us more about that?  How it was found, where was it, etc?  Are you going for a bilateral Pap Flap?

    Hi Stac,

The lumpectomy ended up being scar tissue from the mast (thank goodness!!!). I still have my right boob so not bilateral. Glad to come upon your post; it's good to hear such positive results! Good luck on the bike!

    Margaret

Thanks to all for the info on PAP.  I had a DIEP with Allen and Levine in 2007 at NY Ear and Eye and loved the surgeons and the hospital (amazing room, nursing staff...this helped recovery so much!)  My results were terrific (except for part of my tummy scar.  Half is smooth and visually fine, the other half is darker and thicker.)Now I am needing my other breast done and will probably have a PAP.  I know I want to use Allen again and he recommends using Ahn as the second surgeon.  Dr. Shapiro would be the BS.    Ahn's privileges are at NYU Medical Center.  I could probably get Allen and Levine again and go back to NYE&E however I have heard Ahn is meticulous and I want to have some cosmetic work (lypo primarily) done during Stage 2.  Has anyone had experience with Ahn (with Allen?) at NYU?   Has anyone had a PAP done with Allen and Levine?  Has anyone used Dr. Shapiro at NYU for a BS?  Would love some help sorting this out.

    Thanks so much!

    hi

I used Allen for TUG at NYE&E and Ahn for some fat grafting in a second procedure at NYU.  Totally agree that Ahn is a perfectionist and Allen more of a let's do it once and get on with life guy.  Liked them both a lot.  I'm sure some people prefer one style over the other.   After TUG Allen was fine with me flying to CA after two weeks, exercising.... So better for me!  Happy to answer any questions.

I am having a PAP this July and am looking for an alternative to the compression girdle. Saw your posts on the compression shorts. Can I ask what they look like and where you got them?

Trying to be as ready as possible but there's so much to think about (and so much anxiety)

I am new to this and trying to decide which way I should go. DIEP surgery or implants. What is the pap surgery you refer to
