The End of Illness
The book was written by the Steve Job's Oncologist, Dr. David B. Agus. He along with his book has been featured on many news shows. I think this book is slated to be a best seller. Has anyone read it?
From the reviews on Amazon (for some reason I cant paste it here) My cancer was my fault. I should not take any supplements, juicing is a waste of time, I need to start taking a statin and I needed to be on aspirin long ago.

Who is this little ray of sunshine? and someone need to tell him to get his head out of his butt!

Chrissy,
I wish I could post the article here. I'm like really? So now when we mention we had/have BC mainstream is going to believe it's our fault?

Thatgirl if you want to look at cancer in a simplistic way, it's a normal cell gone nuts and no one is the cause of that. No-one causes their own cancer! and if you want to follow a healthy diet and add suppliments to it then go right ahead...............I am no 'expert' on any of this, but I think that what ever makes you feel good and gives you the feeling of power over this disease, you go right ahead and do. The Psyche has as much to do with illness as the body does..........hence the saying.....Mind, Body, Spirit....all in balance.
Mainstream has it's own thoughts and he is just one man who has gained notoriety because he treated a celebrity so don't worry.

Did he mention any environmental factors regarding the toxins we are exposed to in our food, water, body products, cleaning products, and so much more? There are many women who don't drink, smoke, eat healthy, not over weight or obese, exercise, no oral contaceptives or HRT without family hx who get breast cancer. What about all the younger women on these forums getting dx? So easy to put the blame back on the victims instead of exposing the causes. Wonder if he ever read 'Silent Spring' by Rachel Carson who tried for years to get DDT banned in the early 60's. She died of breast cancer while trying to prove her research of it's toxicity.

I'm honestly afraid to read this book. I thought all along I was doing all the right things to prevent cancer (all types). It's disheartening to think it was fruitless....
I don't Need anymore blaming the victim news right now!! -
Gosh, I think the reviews look terrific!

Not sure if you were being facetious above, but I'm not getting what you did from the product description -- maybe just that those things (i.e. supplements, juicing, etc.) aren't as simple or cut & dried as many make them -- not that they're all necessariily bad. And besides, I don't believe in a one size fits all explanation for causes or prevention any more than I believe in it for tx.
I can't wait to read the book! Thanks for telling us about it! Deanna
