A good friend of mine's twin sister,Emily, passed away yesterday. She was stage 4 from the start. My friend was able to be with her when she passed. As a twin myself,I can not image loosing my sister. My twin was with me through every treament and surgery even though she lives 3 and 1/2 hours away.We rely on each other for everything in our lives -supporting each other through the bad times and celebrate the good. I am so overwhelmed with sadness for my friend. Is there any way I can help her?

oh, that is so heartbreaking.  i'm a twin - i don't know what i would do without my sister.   i don't know what you can do for your friend, except just be there for her and spend time with her, cry with her. you have the unique perspective of understanding what it is like to be a twin, so you  have a better understanding of what she has lost.

Agree with sweatbean - be there for her and give her your shoulder.  My mom is a twin and her sister died on the operating table while my mom was there to donate a kidney.  This was almost 50 years ago and my mom mourns her still. I don't quite understand the bonds that twins share, but know it is special.  I also have twin brothers.
