A dear friend of mine finished radiation just before Thanksgiving and had her port removed about a week before Christmas  (TNBC, stage IIIc).  The doctors are now considering her "cancer free" (her words, not mine), and we could not be more thrilled.  I've got to say, "cancer-free" has to be one of the most beautiful phrases in the English language.  I know it's not really the "end" of the journey, fight, worry, whatever you want to call it, but it certainly feels like she's crossed a major hurdle.  Anyway, I just wanted to share the joy with all of you, and say thanks for all of the support the members of BCO provide.  You have all been a wonderful font of knowledge and reassurance, even just for a friend of someone with breast cancer.  Sending up all my hopes and prayers for all of you wonderful BCO men and women!
