flushed face after radiation

Options

Does anyone else get really red in the face and flushed for about 3 hours after radiation? Nurse was puzzled bc she said the rads are no where  near my face, but it happens every time.  As for the rest of it, I'm on about #17 and skin is holding up fine except for under my arm which is getting sore.

It happened to me yesterday after rads, and I was wondering what the heck that was all about. Let me know, please, if you find out.

Yes, it happened to me too. Let's not forget it is not natural to be radiated. A human body can react in so many ways. 'Not even near your face', pfff, sometimes they can be so silly. Howcome docs sometimes say 'You can feel tired but we don't know exactly why'. It affects your whole system for Pete's sake. First week of rads I didn't hold my chin up and I had a sore throat. The following it was marked on the treatment screen 'Remember to keep chin up', noone told me anything though, but I did as the computer said, voilà no more sore throat.

Radiationtreatment is not as hardcore as chemo (but we can always worry about secondary cancers), but strange side effects (although less tough than those experienced on chemo) are common with rads too. I don't have exact studies, only the words from my fellow radsisters & myself.

Funny...glad I stumbled across this thread.  I've only had 9 of my 30 rads and I swear I have felt like I am "flushed" afterward.  I asked my RO about it and he didn't think it was anything to be concerned about.

I'm on day 3 of radiation and this has been happening since day 1. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to my skin are but now tonight it's still happening. I spoke to the oncologist team and they said it's no way connected to radiation. I'm at a loss... they told me maybe I was going through menopause... no symptoms at all til radiation day 1.
