Anyone Job Hunting?

Thanks for the words of support. After my last two interviews went bust (both organizations decided to 'go in another direction'- but I really suspect one was cut down my my previous supervisor. I had not wanted to use her as a reference, but the org. insisted. She always thought I was out for her job - I wasn't. ) I have another interview on Tuesday for a job that is 1/2 the salary of my last job. But maybe, just maybe, the mission of the organization will make up for the loss of $$.

Hi All, Hope this finds you well. Are you working? After months of jumping through qualification hoops and undergoing training, I got a job and health insurance. Then after two weeks on the job, I had a non-cancer related medical emergency and will have to be off work 11 weeks while recovering.
Crazy.
Life is showing me that worry is to no avail. I worry about things that don't come about. I never suspect to worry about what actually is around the corner.
I'm also trying to "Get over it and get on with it."
I've let pass and let go so many opportunities while recovering from cancer and its side effects. I can't go back and redo them. But I can try to be more focused on my goals, wants and needs as I recover this time around.

@Kate33m thank you for your post. I was in a middle of ongoing job/client search, teaching/consulting, and interviews when I got my DX and needed to put all on hold b/c my treatment became my full time job. Now, thank G-d, I can go back to job search again. That's challenging but I hope I can find PT or contract job close to home. http://www.cancerandcareers.org/ is very informative.
Good luck to everyone and thank you for your posts.

I was reorg out of my job on 3/5/13. I had been there 14 years. I just found out that I have to have my ovaries removed on 4/9/13. Fortunately I have severance until Sept 2013 which includes health insurance. I have been on Tamoxifin since 12/1/12 but I just started having side effects two weeks ago. Hot flashes, headaches and tired. I can't get motivated to look for a new job. I can't wait to get off this rollarcoaster.
