What types of Hats do most over 60 women wear?
All the adds have these young ladies in there teen or twenties. Doesn't really give us an idea of what we will look like. Any suggestions? Just trying to plan ahead. I have been blond for more than 30 years, will be interesting to see what color I really am. Maybe a shock, we think of gray as old.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Katie,
I am 60 and have twice lost my hair to cancer. Its very individual really. Some seem more comfortable in scarfs etc some prefer wigs. I found a cute blonde one last time that was. comfortable and looked pretty good. Really just depends on what you will find most comfortable for you.

We are all so different in our tastes and life styles that there is no 'one way'.
I had 2 wigs - one fairly long (a gypsy shag) and a Pixie - both were frosted. My hair is still, at 65, as dark as it ever was naturally (thanks to genes on Daddy's side). (I get so tired of being told by strangers I'd look so much younger if I didn't dye my hair black. It's not 'black' - it's dark brown and IS NOT Dyed! OH Well LOL).
I did not have any hats - I made lots of scarves in all sorts of colors and materials (winters are brutal here and I had/have to be outside a fair bit of time.) I made some "Momba Socks" and had a lot of stocking caps. Had I done chemo in summer I'd probably just used a lot of sunscreen as summers are also VERY hot here as winters are cold.
Scarves are real easy to make and you can tailor them to the outfit you want them for. Some of mine were 'dressier' - some more 'useable' outside in wind/weather. -
2katie. We still need to look fly!! I was 57, Bought a wig, but it became uncomfortably hot. Wore doorags from walmart under baseball caps, newsboy hats, and scarves. The scarves were my mainstay at work.I really liked the Gaila wraps, they sent chemo patients one free. My hair I knew was going to come in mostly gray. Before chemo I kept it dark. I have now gone ash blonde and love it.

I wear a hair hat. Yes, a wig. But I have been wearing them for 20 years and I still have my own hair though it is thin and why I started with the wigs.
My own hair would be white if I did not dye it. I can't stand to see myslef with white hair. My short blond wig suits me fine and everyone is shocked at my age which is 76. Never a bad hair day.
I understand that chemo patients have very sensitive scalps. I was wondring if a soft cotton cap could go under the wig. There must be such a thing.
