    Hi Melanie-in-mo

I've no advice as I'm at the same stage as you. Chemo and rads done and planning reconstruction for some time this year.

I just wanted to say hi and welcome you. There are great ladies here who will gladly share their stories and tips.

Hi Melanie, and welcome to Breastcancer.org. Two other places you might look for more information: the Reconstruction forum here on the discussion boards, and the section on Reconstruction from the main Breastcancer.org site.

There is a thread in the reconstruction forum called diep2011 where a lot of women posted their experiences from the surgery. I had it the sx in August (uni mx not bimx though). My experience was very positive. After two weeks, really felt almost completely normal, and I think I had more problems from the ALND than the DIEP. Good luck!

Thanks for the input...I was scheduled for surgery tomorrow, but developed a cough that required some antibiotics and steroids, so I have a few more weeks to gather information.
