Interesting Aspirin News
http://www.physorg.com/news185616128.html
this article was written about a year ago but still...very hopeful. I began a low dose aspirin regiment about a month ago. Low dose (81mg) of adult aspirin 5x a week. Can't hurt! Well I guess it can if you are prone to stomach bleeding.

Thanks for posting this reminder. I am taking low dose aspirin. The brand I buy at the supermarket is 100 mg per tablet.

I don't know hwo much mg matters but the articles that I have read say low dose. I am assuming people take a low dose to try to prevent stomach issues.
-
I was taking low dose aspirin for several years before I was diagnosed with my breast cancer, so I'm not jumping on the aspirin bandwagon since it didn't seem to prevent my bc. I have enough other meds/supplements I take every day! But my case is not your case, so I hope this helps you!

Anything that gives me a glimmer of hope I am on board. WIll it help? Who knows but it's worth a try.

low dose asprin is good for the heart....so, unless you have stomach problems, it seems like an easy 'win-win' thing to take.

Ruth is on the key point. The big ones associated with a reduced risk of recurrence are:
- Exercise. 3 hours of walking minimum per week. More is better. (See #2.)
- Maintaining a healthy weight.
- Aspirin therapy.
These also help keep your cardiovascular system healthy. In the same study that examined exercise, they were unable to separate out diet as a factor. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, but don't go nuts otherwise. I cook most things from scratch. For example, I will be making a chicken marsala for dinner tonight because chicken breasts were on sale. Will serve with veggies and wild rice.
One final reason to do all these: VANITY. When you work out, your skin glows and your shape improves. You feel good about life. Your brain works. You can eat more (see chicken marsala above....who would want broiled, dried out chicken???).
The aspirin.....no problem since something usually hurts from all the exercise. So take at night, and I sleep better.
And oh......I look just fine in spandex. - Claire

I've been taking regular dose aspirin 5x week once a day. My only issue at the beginning is I was not using coated aspirin and it messed up my stomach big time! Ended up having my first colonoscopy to see what was up and the aspirin had ulcerated parts of my stomach. Switched to coated and have had no trouble at all!
