Swimming and Breast Cancer

Has anyone heard about if it is bad to swim in a chlorinated pool if you have breast cancer? Is there a link between breast cancer and chlorine?  I am an avid swimmer, and I hate to discontinue this exercise as people say this is one of the best exercises!

I wouldn't let anything keep me out of the pool. I know there is a theory that chlorine, a heavier halide than iodine, displaces iodine and causes thyroid issues. If that is a concern, you should read up on the iodine, thyroid, BC thread.  With the help of a doctor knowledgeable in that area, you could potentially find a solution with nutrition that could put your mind at ease about anything like that if it concerns you.

Otherwise, get out there and do what you love to do! Swimming is great exercise, and any type of physical activity gets your body in shape and strengthens you, mentally and physically.
