My whippet is freaking me out

Options

Ok, dear friends and sisters,

I have to say that I have been posting quite rarely lately. I did not feel very good and to be honest, I am going through a bout of depression.

I have been having a lot of pain lately - in my hips, in my right shoulder, in my donor site of the LD flap. Had some anxiety and insomnia as well. Also the fact that I am alone, my dear boyfriend being deployed doesn't help much - that and it being winter and me being mostly cooped in the house instead of being able to work in the garden.

I did have MRI's of my right hip and shoulder - showing hip bursitis and shoulder impingement and the possible beginning of osteoarthritis, both MRI's say no evidence of the dreaded C and I am seeing my onc on the 4th of January.

But what is totally freaking me out is one of my two dogs - more precisely my whippet. He normally IS a little attention whore and a little clingy. Before my diagnosis he was way out there thoug, seeking my attention at all times, and trying to be velcroed to me. Once I got through the BMX things got back to normal (once he got assured I won't be missing the night anymore).

But in the last month he is starting to act like that again, and not just like that, but worse. He is practically never leaving my side. Right now as I type he is laying on the floor with his head laying on my foot. He would sit near me and stare at me for hours, whining until I pet him. It is driving me insane.  I keep hoping he is just reacting to me being depressed and that is the cause.

Did your pets feel something was wrong with you?

    Day,

My biggest complaint while I have been on medical leave is that both of my dogs are driving me crazy. I have a pomeranian and a chihuahua/min pin mix ( she was a stray). She is so clingy that I have to be quite stern with her and then she gives the saddest looks you've ever seen. The pom is more needy as well and the two of them keep getting in to somewhat aggressive fights over dog biscuits! Pets really do pick up on our emotions and don't always handle it well, kind of like kids. I'm going back to work soon. I need a break from my dogs. Hope you're feeling better soon.

    Caryn
