Opening the Scary Door Again
Going to see my PC at noon today to follow up on all this pain I've been having in my back and stabbing pain in my arm pits. I followed our 2 week "wait and see" protocol and it isn't going away, getting worse in some ways. Doc says we will probably do some scans so I'll be playing the waiting game soon. HATE this. I feel good for a while then something pulls the rug out from me.
Finally found a therapist through the same PC and saw her yesterday. Not sure if it's going to be a great match yet. I have a VERY open mind but she seems quite quirky. She did however, suggest some good breathing exercises when I wake up with anxiety at night, so I will try those to see how it works. I really need to just blow off some steam at this point and vent, cry, whatever, and I'm not sure if she's going to pull that out of me. Hard to say after one visit, so I'll give her a few more times to assess. I REALLY need help dealing..........
Hugs and I'll keep you all posted.
Sharon

pupfoster: sending good wishes your way. After my exchange surgery, I had shooting pains down my arm and very bad pain in my armpit. I don't have LE, but when I saw an LE specialist, she said there is a lymph channel running down there that was probably badly exacerbated during the surgery.
I hope it's just a pulled muscle and lymph issues for you. Lots of prayers, and keep us posted.

Sharon,
I think that ativan, ( anti-anxiety), should be part of a cancer dx, ask for it. I have pulling in the armpit also. Stretching seems to help it.
-
Sharon,
I send you ((HUGS)) and best wishes.
Praying for you gal! xo

love you,
Steph

Love you ladies, thanks for the words of support.
So PC checked me out and we did find one very sensitive vetabrae around the mid thoratic area. He didn't feel anything alarming under the arm pits and said what I'm describing really doesn't sound like what how a recurrence would present so that was somewhat reasurring. He did go ahead and order blood work with tumor markers but said that could be out of wack for all sorts of reasons so he warned me ahead of time in case it came back out of the normal range. He also wanted to start w/an MRI of the spine but if that doesn't give us any answers a bone scan next. They couldn't get me in till next Tuesday for the scan (I was ready right then to go) so I'll have to wait it out. Doc said he should have the results w/in a day or two of the test, so hopefully by next Thursday I should know something.
In the meanwhile he px me Lorazepam for the anxiety and oxycodone for the pain. Last night I actually felt almost normal and calm. Still feeling some pain, but not in that totally anxious place.
Love you all for being here. I'll keep you posted!
