High elevation question

I think that I am supposed to wear my compresson garment on my at risk arm when I fly....However, I was wondering if I should wear it on my at risk arm when I go to a high elevation? I just found out that I will be going on the Palm Springs Ariel Tram tomorrow ( goes up to 8500 feet in a short amount of time).  I wear a sleeve on my LE arm almost all waking hours....I sure don't want to get LE in my other arm too, and am wondering if that could be a trigger.

I go once a year to a City in South America that is in the Andes and it is 12.000 feet, also I visit other cities that higher.

The sleeve is to we worn in a plane because of compression, not altitude. I have not had any problem even do that my flight is 15 hours, I make sure to wear my sleeve.

I do not have any LE.

Annette, actually altitude is an issue with LE. Do wear the sleeve (and hand protection) if you have it with you. I live in a huge valley, and have to contend with altitude changes whenever I drive more than half an hour in any direction. It matters; definitely protect yourself.

If you don't have it with you (and even if you do), keep the other risk precautions in mind: stay REALLY well hydrated, pause often for several deep abdominal breaths, and also at intervals elevate your arm while slowly pumping your fist.

Have a fun day! The view from the top is astounding.Cool

    Be well!
