My mom was just diagnosed with liver mets

Options

Hi,

I am new here and looking for support for myself and my parents. My mom was diagnosed 4.5 years ago with lobular carcinoma. She had a mastectomy, chemo, and radiation. She was also on Arimdex.

She had abnormal vaginal bleeding in September and was diagnosed with mets to the uterus, ovaries, and cervix. She had a complete hysterectomy, and we discovered last week that she has liver mets. She begins chemo again on Friday.

I don't really know what questions to ask, but I would like to hear what treatments any of you have had for liver mets. This seems like a wonderful and supportive group. Thank you in advance for any information that you have.

Dawn

    Dear Dawn,
I'm so sorry.  Please join us on the stage 4 forum with questions as it gets more traffic than this board.  The gals on this site will be here for you 110%.  There are many of us living full lives with liver mets, so there's reason for hope.
    Hugs to you.

    Hello!

I just wanted to reach out to you as a daughter of a mom who had breast cancer. I unfortunately lost my mom one year ago yesterday but I remember the day we found out it was in her liver like it was yesterday. I remember how she would constantly say "as long as it doesn't go to my liver" and when we heard that it was we of course feared the worst. But we still had quality years with her. I know that treatments are no walk in the park but as long as there are treatment options and your mom wants them, there is hope!

The people on here are amazing! I am certain you will receive plenty of advice for your mom. If you would like advice or support from another daughter I am here! The cliche I heard way too often "hang in there"! It just really sucks!
