I am on celexa and I am on tamoxifen.  I have not had any SEs and I feel MUCH BETTER and more productive and no longer like sitting alone in tears.  I am monitored by my therapist......

I have to say, I took it for about a year after/during active treatment and went back on it after nearly a year off about two weeks ago.  I didn't want to go back on it but realized that with so much going on in my life (mother with ovarian cancer diagnosis), I was overloaded and needed the boost.

3M's - did your oncologist approve taking Celexa with Tamoxifen?  I've been taking an SSRI for years, the reason my oncologist started me on Arimidex, instead of Tamoxifen, is I refused to take Effexor ( had a terrible experience with it years ago).  Celexa is considered an SSRI.

I'm in in the 4th year of Arimidex - and my oncologist has now said, that rather than going OFF all homone completely at the end of 5 years, it may be time to try tamoxifen - even with an SSRI.

Have until next summer to figure this out, but am VERY INTERESTED to learn you're taking Celexa with tamoxifen - gives me some hope. Have been feeling very, very Brick/Hard Wall about all this...

mamalu13, I believe you are referring to "Buspar". Two of my posts on this thread mention that I take Buspar, and I am a big believer in it for anxiety.  It is not habit-forming.  It does not make me tired.  It does calm my nerves.  It allows me to function on a daily basis.  I am not zoned out when I take it.  I can experience many emotions, and the anxiety is kept to a minimum while taking Buspar.  You might want to read my previous couple of posts.

Thank you... Went to the doctor today and he suggested I take Effexor but I don't want to because I have read nothing but horror stories about missing a dose and withdrawal symptoms . Since I don't have insurance I don't want to be in a spot when I can't afford my meds and have to go through withdrawals so I am enclined to go with Wellbutrin . Any input from anyone will be very helpful.
