Congratulations, Sweetbean!
Question - Do you normally get scanned every year if you're Stage III? I'm at Dana Farber, and I don't think my onc has plans to scan me ever again (*gulp*) unless (*gulp*) I start showing signs of mets.
-
Whoo hoo!!! Still doing the dance of joy!
Windlass, my onc had no plans to scan me - I insisted. I needed to know, quite frankly. And I'm glad I did it.
-
HOORAY!!!!! Happy for you!
-
LOVE IT! I kind of wish my doc did yearly scans, but she doesn't. But on the other hand, I'd probably be a mess going in and then while waiting.
GREAT NEWS!

I'm so happy for you, sweetbean. Lots to celebrate! Hurray!

Great way to start 2012. Congrats

My onc said he would only scan if there were symptoms, BUT that does not work for me so I wil insist on a scan one a year. I have been having pain in my neck for the past 2 days, started out with sore muscles but my vertebrae hurt too. I see him on the 20th and will ask about it. I did have a neck xray in October and it showed some degeneration, part of getting old. I wonder if the tamoxofin is making me achy back there? I did read somewhere that scans are hard on the body, like the liver and soft organs so that could be a reason but I also think that insurance companies balk at the cost. But oh well I have paid into my insurance for over 15 years, time for a little pay back.

Congrats sweet bean!!! I just had scans done of my neck and lower back - and I have a bulging disc in my neck and a ruptured disc in my lower L5 - and I was really afraid of bone mets so I guess it is good news. I feel like my body is falling apart though - does anyone else have severe back issues? Could it be residual from chemo and radiation? Maybe it is just old age - but at 52 I don't feel THAT old - glad for your great news Sweet Bean!!!
