Doctor visit or not?
I'm at high risk for breast cancer. I have a family history of it, had exposure to radiation, and had surgery on my left breast (hematoma). Here's my problem: I've been to more doctors visits in the last year than probably my whole life. I'm tired of doctors doing tests that have nothing to do with my symptoms or they've already done (ie pregnancy tests, pap smear, thyroid... you name it), taking medicines that aren't effective (Tamixifen...), and waiting for hours to talk with doctors who don't review my history and want me out as quickly as possible. To identify the previous lump as a hematoma, I ended up having to visit over six different doctors. It was a very frustrating experience.
After the hematoma was removed, I thought the fatigue would stop and everything would back to normal. Wrong. My symptoms (or complaints) are becoming more numerous and worsening, not disappearing. If I were older and had more monetary "padding," I'd look for a better doctor and go right away, even if it meant wasted time. But, I'm young (22), on a tight budget, and can't afford anymore "wasted" doctors trips and/or meds, or to lose work hours going to doctor visits.
My symptoms are lymph node swelling and tenderness (noticibly, gland and underarms), nipple color change, night sweats, chills, random fevers, most recently bruising or discoloration of left breast, constant abdominal pain (could be related or unrelated...not dietary), extreme fatigue (haven't made it to the gym since July), chronic dry cough, weight loss (about 15 ibs that I actually didn't need to lose), and a lump on left breast (but of course, has the potential to be another hematoma or scarring). So, should I brave the doctor's again? Any advice?

fruitofthespirit- You certainly have been through a lot especially at such a young age and i sympathize with you but you stated you are at high risk of breast cancer, with all the symptoms you have going on right now i would call a dr, it could be somthing else intirely and serious or not, but for peace of mind i would go right away, for such a young age you shouldnt have all these symptoms, and as you mentioned you do have a lump. Having breast cancer at such a young age as you are is rare but not unheard of, so please make another appointment and find out what is going on with you. I would also ask for a thyroid blood test.
We are all here for you. please keep us posted. You are in my thoughts and prayers
