Pain and ADH?

I'm making this thread because I was recently diagnosed with ADH and I when I went to the breast surgeon he asked how was I diagnosed I told him that I had constant stabbing breast pain and my OB-GYN had referred me to get a ultrasound. One thing that struck me was that he said that ADH doesn't have pain associated with it at all. Long story short I'll be going in for a lumpectomy on Fri. For once I'm happy I had pain if not who knows what might have been.

 Any similar stories?

I have had shooting breast pain on my right breast only for a long time.  I was dx with ADH on that breast last year and the pre-cancerous cells were removed. However,  i'm having another biopsy this Thursday on that breast because the last MRI showed some "exhacement" in there.  :(

I was dx'ed with ADH last February, but no pain for me.  Mammogram saw a cluster of calcifications.

Maria I hope everything turns out well. I had stabbing shooting pains through out the whole month. They were shrugged of as hormonal or fibrocystic breasts.

    Hello all,

I was diagnosed with ADH in 2004. Pain is what alerted me to the area where I had a lump. I had a lumpectomy that same year. To this day, once in a while I have radiating pain in that same breast. I do have markers in this breast to alert other physicians where my lump was originally found. Like many others, I also have fibrocystic breast and many physicians contribute the pain to this. I'm unsure if what they tell me is accurate due to my breast density.  Hmmm!

Currently, I have pain in my under arm glands. They're quite sore.

Good luck to Mommy23kids and Maria, hope everything turns out well for both of you. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thanks pinkrose I had the lumpectomy yesterday and I'm doing great other than swelling and soreness. Now to wait and see what pathology says next week. Weird my right breast is not fibrocystic my left one is and that's the one with ADH.

The doctors figure I'd had ADH in my breast for at least three years prior to my discovering a cancerous lump. I had no pain involved but had a green discharge at about that time. Saw what I think was a breast surgeon and he simply dismissed with not testing because he couldn't get the discharge. His words to me were.. Well, don't let your boyfriend play with the breast like that then.

I heard he'd left the area, but if I could I would send him one nasty letter remarking on his negligence.

I am hoping  your results are benign, mommy23kids. You seem to be handling the wait very well.

Did your surgeon say you can ice your breast? The clinic sent home two cloth covered ice packs I could put right in my bra and I remember using them a lot.

Yes cinnamonsmiles Ive been icing on and off since I got home i tuck it into my sports bra. I'm trying not to stress with the holidays if there is something more than ADH in this lumpectomy. If there is it choose the wrong person to mess with.

    Hi mommy23kids

I was diagnosed with ADH on October 18.  At my visit with the surgeon prior to my lumpectomy I mentioned I had pain. I was told that pain is good news and the lump was most likely fibroids. I was surprised to hear the diagnosis of ADH after the lumpectomy.

My thoughts are with you as you wait for your results. (((HUGS)))

Ladies good news!!! Got my results today the original biopsy got most of the ADH and the lumpectomy cleaned the area of any ADH that was left. My BS is worried that at 29 I'm already showing ADH and wants me on a 6 mth rotation to make sure that now that I'm considered high risk well catch anything that decides to show in its early stages. Hoping 2012 gives everyone great health and lots of strength.
