Dropping by to say hi to all the BC bc gals
-
Hi Ossa, and everyone else. Beautiful day here, I hope the sun is shining for all of you too!
-
Hi there, yes what a beautiful day in the Okanagan we have today.... Spring must surely be on its way
-
Hi all!
Beautiful sunny day today in Prince George, we had a lot of snow the last few days so the sun sure feels good!...
I went to town today for the first time with nothing on my head, so liberating. I am 15 weeks pfc. I have a super short pixie cut look. -
Haven't been on the board since Feb 18. Was admitted to hospital as we thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out it wasn 't but may have been either angina or acid reflux. So off the more doctors next week to have more tests done, as if the hospital didn't CT, xray and scan just about every part of my poor body we already. Looks like won't be doing the last chemo treatment as physically and emotionally I can't it appears my body is saying enough already! I go next week to see my MO to see what's next on the agenda. to add insult to injury, I picked up c. Diff. while I was in hospital too. Grrrrrrrrr
-
judie, c diff too, yuck! Is your MO in Surrey or Vancouver, chemo brain bad the last few days but I chalk it up to pre op anxiety. So maybe no more chemo for you but are they considering any surgery or just trying to shrink tumours at this point? So I picture you as a unicorn, not a Jodie!
Gotta say that my bowels are still back there in chemo land and am hoping that will get me through post op med constipation without more drugs!
bearcub, 15 weeks pfc and a pixie cut! I am 4 weeks now and nothing. But even with a pixie cut wasn't your head cold in PG? Rain, rain here though my son convinced me to walk my usual 5 k late yesterday in pouring rain. He was right I felt better and we had fun. Today maybe the same.
Getting psyched for op Tuesday. Preop consult on phone this AM and picked up this package I have to do specail wipes the night before. New to me but then I was out of town for many years!

My MO is in Surrey. I've met several of his patients and they all speak highly of him. As well the nurses at Surrey Memorial say he is one of the better MO's.
-
Dropping by to say hi!
Have fun in Vegas Ossa! (Just sent you a pm) -
Marianne - I was supposed to go on inhibitors and bone strengthener but won't know for sure until next week now because of the other problems. I have to see cardiologist and gastro doctors now. It just doesn't seem to end for me. One yucky problem after another.
-
Marian, yes a very short pixie cut, I really do need at least another inch of hair. Right now I feel like I look like a female trying to look like a guy. Yes, my head gets cold, how do men do it?....at least spring is on it's way.
I will be thinking of you on tuesday, sending you healthy healing vibes.
Ossa have fun! I plan on a tattoo when I finish my herceptin in November, did it hurt?? I guess we are warriors and can handle it!
Judie I hope they are able to figure out the cardio issues. You are right though, it's always something.
Had my muga scan last Monday, I am good to go for herceptin for another 3 months.
Everyone have a happy week! -
Well, this wasn't in the plan ..... Diagnosed with chest wall recurrence. Waiting for some scan and path results to determine the path forward.
-
She - ((hugs)). Sending you positive vibes I hope you get for a good way forward and recovery.
Hugs to all the other ladies too.
Cancer sux !!
-
She,
Tazzy has said it all, cancer sux!! I am sending Peaceful, Positive vibes and a Hug.
Take Care. -
She, "Oh shit" were my first words when I just read your post. Where are you? I did not expect you back from Africa yet? Was there something that made you think you might have a problem? Are you having the scan at BCCA?
Keep us posted. I am 3 weeks out from modified radical and reconstruction with rads as soon as my RO can make it happen though I am not quite so thrilled and in fact have been sliding downhill mentally recently. MO wants me to start antidepressents and though I have picked up the rx, can't quite do it just yet. Waiting for a "sign"!
-
Marian - are you going for your CT mapping tomorrow? Or have you put it on hold for a while because of your ROM? Sorry to hear you aren't feeling so great mentally - it is sure a tough road for us all to travel - and you particularly have been through a lot with the surgery in addition to the chemo. Hope you are feeling less blue soon.
I started my radiation yesterday and it isn't so bad - although I have heard that it gets worse as it goes on. The radiation technicians are amazing and I have the utmost trust in them.
When you do go for the CT imaging - if the positioning is not comfortable be sure to let them know and they can make a mold for you to support which ever body part is not comfortable for you. I had a special head/shoulder mold made for me because I couldn't relax my arms out to the side enough - the mold supports my arms so that they are comfortable.
Healing thoughts coming your way and hope you are feeling better soon. Nice to have the sunshine, isn't it?
-
Adagio, it is a long haul. No CT imaging tomorrow. I am having one more fill next Tuesday so it will be delayed. One more node postive in this last pathology.
I saw on another thread that you asked about moisturizing. I have read that it is key to everything. Moisturize, moisturize! PS says anything will do, cheap as good as cost. In the blue rads folder there is a list. I bought laxol base at Costco cheap. Hope it stays easy! See you there some day I suspect.
-
So sorry to hear about the recurrence, She. Sending gentle hugs and positive vibes.
-
Thanks friends.
