4 DD taxol vs 12 weekly taxol
Okay, this question has been asked many times I think but I want to start a new informal poll. Did you get 4 taxol every two weeks, 4 taxol every three weeks, or 12 weekly taxol? I seem to be able to have whichever I want. I'm not sure whether the extra taxol is more important to getting on tamoxifen quicker.

I am on weekly taxol, I get them on mondays and I have had 3 so far, I am on taxol first then FAC, so I have not had any hairloss yet. i just started thinning today a little and my bloodwork is still normal. No drops in my WBC, platelets, neutraphils, ect. The nurse was really excited that my bloodwork was so "healthy" on the weekly taxol. Aside from some minor constipation (which Is easly fixed with smooth moves tea
) I have been feeling pretty normal on the weekly taxol. Going into winter, depending on how careful you are able to be about staying away from sick people, you may not want to go on DD taxol and risk getting sick.
Good luck!

I had weekly taxol. It has been shown to be gentler on the body, and I believe in some studies, slightly more effective. The only downside for me, was the weekly appointment. It was so easy compared to AC, which wiped me out. I'm also 3C.

I had DD Taxol. I thought it was pretty easy compared to AC. I had some slight tingling in the infusion hand after the 3rd tx that stuck with me for several weeks PFC, but that has since resolved. The idea of being done with chemo faster really appealed to me and it is considered a more aggressive treatment which I needed thanks to those two pesky + nodes

I had 4 AC and 4 taxol. Had alot of bone pain with Taxol in legs and feet but they gave me steroids and was better. Felt better pretty much after chemo was over. It's amazing how the body repares its self.

Agree completely with clariceak. My onc. concurs exactly with clariceak's statements. I am headed for 12 weeklies week after Christmas, having had my four DD AC already.
-
I'm doing 12 weekly taxols too, started last wed on first taxol. allready did the 4 AC's. I was just bitchy those first 2 days, but feel pretty "normal"
-
I am starting the weekly next week for 3 months after the 4 AC's. Been bitchy on these, hope my moods don't get worse! Wonder if it's the medicine or the stress of everything. Are you still going to work?
-
I took the weekly Taxol first followed by FAC every three week for total of four treatments. Tolerated the whole mess quite well....worst part for me.was the steroids. This is the treatment regimen used atF Anderson cancer center. Certainly going with them being right. Took 28 cycles of radiation with no real burns to mention. Just had a complete Hysterectomy in Dec so I should start Arimidex soon.

I was scheduled for 4 DD taxol every other week, but had an allergy and had to switch to taxotere which was every three weeks and I finished three of those instead of the taxol. Compared to AC, was easy for me, but not a walk in the park. I just wanted it over as quickly as possible, but it really only saves four weeks, so if I did it over again would probably choose the weekly.

I did the DD taxol routine and I was glad that my MO wanted that approach. Twelve infusions instead of four...kind of a no-brainer for me. And finishing four weeks earlier made me happy. I asked my MO about it because the weekly protocol is getting popular and she felt that the weekly treatment was demanding in its own way because you had to show up every week. I got treatment at Dana Farber, I'm guessing the outcomes are statistically equal or they'd be doing the weekly thing.
