Urgent, how much time did it take se's to hit
Tough decision, I am invited to a really good party right after I get reclast. If I remember it took a few hours for the se's to hit and the worst of it was about 12 hours later.
Am I crazy to try to go? I really want to. It's breaking my heart. My schedule is tight so rescheduling would be hard.

My SE bone pain and flu like symptoms didn't kick in until about 16 hours post infusion. I had just got to work the next day following my infusion and went from feelin ok to feeling miserable within about hour.
It was only with the first infusion of zometa I had the SE the rest have been good SE wise -
Maybe I should take a shot at it then...anyone else?

go for it cookie!

Cookie, a lot of women find that if they drink a LOT of water the day before & the day of the infusion then the SEs are milder.
Have fun at the party!

You don't want to be sitting at home feeling just fine (other than glum) while everyone else is partying.....GO!!!
Everyone will understand if you have to leave early. Don't pass up on the chance to have a wonderful time. We have too few of these as it is.
-
The big problem is it's out in NJ, about 45 minutes to a hour from the city. I got WICKED sick last time, I am just scared I will get sick too far from home. But yeah, I am leaning towards going.
-
OK so Zometa at 5:45 ish...party starts at 8 in NJ....do we think I can make it to 10:00? If this goes down wrong I am going to be doing a swan dive infront of industry people my husband works with.
-
OK so I made it to the party...mild headache, but so far that is it. I kind of wonder if keeping moving is helping. I had this a year and a half ago so the nurse warned me I might have "virgin" se's.
But so far so good.
I have also eaten soooo much today. We went to La Grenouille and had a cheese and vanilla souffle before sloan. Still eating. Still almost no SE's. Go figure. However I am eating like a bottomless pit and my LE flared a bit. (Party dress bra is a killer.)
C'est la vie!

still doing well, I am almost scared to go to sleep, that's when it hit me last time
-
Are you still doing okay, cookiegal? I think Claire is right: any excuse for a good party... SE's be d*mned!

it's interesting...if the previous se's were a 10, this is a three. My husband kinda rolled into me in bed and it felt like that bone was burning for 20 minutes, I am achey, even my teeth kinda hurt, but it is nowhere near as bad as last time which was terrifying.
(I actually fainted on the bathroom floor.)
Mild headache as well, but I think the worst is past. I will have a mellow night.
I wonder if the awesome quantity of food I have consumed in the last 24 hours helped. Also I feel like being out and about helped. The worst was when I woke up.
I tried to post earlier and typing hurt, but now it's ok.

Yahoo, you show em cookie. You should be really proud of yourself, and i bet your husband is. Yourbravery astounds me x
-
Cookiegal, good for you. I also do the Zometa and have been lucky to have minimal se's. Maybe it was just the "virgin" thing. Let us know how you are doing. Oh, also drink lots and lots and lots of water (or fluid)
-
Doing ok, almost went to dinner tonight, but still a tad achey.
Still NOTHING like last time which was off the charts.
Cheers!!!
