My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer today December 12th I am 17 years old and she is 46

She starts chemotherapy next week she doesn't seem phased but it hasn't hit her yet and hasn't hit me either I heard she is going to be really sick . Why does this have to happen to her it doesn't run in our family I don't understand . I just hope she pulls through. all my family is coming in and I feel like that's what she needs right now. all of our family is back in california or Florida so this is good. I just hope she overcomes this.

Hi Cnicole.  I am so sorry that your mom has been diagnosed with this disease but please, don't panic.  Yes your mom may be sick while doing chemo but most times this is only for a few days just after the treatment is given.  She will be very tired and will need your help and support.  If you have any questions through out this ordeal, please come here to your thread and post them and someone will always anwser you.

    Love n hugs.  Chrissy

    Hi C,

I'm sorry you had to find us. (((((((hugs))))). Keep positive thoughts and try to make time to laugh with your mom. Rent funny movies and watch funny tv shows. Take pictures of you guys together NOW before treatment. They will make her smile on sad days.

She needs to be strong for herself and for you. Come back here and talk to us. You can also send me a private message if you like.

Don't hope she will pull through, KNOW that she will. Talk to God. Talk to God. Talk to God.

    Thank both of you. :)

Her second round started today I did find out she has Stage III B Breast Cancer and it's spreading.

Her hair has fallen out but she hasn't thrown up or anything yet. Her spirits are still up and i'm doing all I can do as her daughter. I'm glad I have this community to talk to ! :)

Hi CnicoleG hopefully the chemo will knock the cancer back and stop the spread for her.  I'm so glad that she hasn't thrown up, that is a good thing, but please do make sure she has the ant-nausea meds she needs to stay comfortable and make sure she stays hidrated.........it's very important.

Does she have a wig or some pretty head scarves or wraps?  or even a beanie to help keep her head warm.  Those sorts of things help to keep the spirits up as well.

Thanks for letting us know how she is doing and don't forget, if you have any questions, you can always ask here.

    Love n hugs.  Chrissy
