I have been living with multiple focal LCIS for the past three years I have finally decided to go ahead with immediate reconstruction after mastectomy but they can't do this procedure on me because I am too big breasted ... WONDERING if anyone out there has had a breast reduction first then the mastectomy ... If so can you private message me or give me some feedback ... Thanks for listening !!! Chris38.... Happy Holidays to all!!!!☺

Are you getting both sides done? Your breasts, when heavy and large, have a natural droop to them. If a plastic surgeon makes you ONE new breast, it would be firm and high. They wouldn't match. Why don't you do both breasts??

I think you need more clarification on why the PS won't do it.  You may need more revisions than someone else to reduce the skin envelope after the mastectomy, and if you're big elsewhere the largest implant may not match your body frame, but it's still possible to do.

I was 36G and went to 36DD with SGAP reconstruction.  My sister was larger than me, a J cup I think?  She had implant recon. The implants look too small on her, but she has something. Probably a B-C cup.

I think you need a second opinion.

I was diagnosed with LCIS in August.  I had a routine mammogramm and they found something "suspicious"  When I told them I was about to have a breast reduction, it was decided to have a biopsy first, "just in case" And here I was, with this LCIS diagnosis.  I refused Tamoxifen, proceeded with breast reduction (went from a VERY large DDD to an average C).  My thinking is, now my size is perfect for a nipple-sparing, skin sparing mastectomy.  I am going in for my 6-month check-up next week. My thinking is, if they find "something" again, I am going ahead with the surgery.  At least this way it is on my own terms, preserving the way I look while I still can:(

Wishing you the best on this sucky journey... Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I am relatively new to this whole nightmare, but will be happy to help if I can.

Thank you for posting your story, ScaredInSnoqualmie. I've been looking to do the same thing; reduction and then NSM. Nice to find someone who thinks a lot like I do on this topic.
