I had to start a new topic and share some valuable information. I had went for a wig to a recommended facility and found more then wigs!! Here is a quick overview...

I had my BMX 10/4/11 with TE put in place. All was well until 11/7/11 when had emergency surgery to remove one of them due to a staph infection. I had no idea how much this would bother me. I was so self conscience about one side being flat and have worn huge sweatshirts. Now I go for my wig and discover a world of options that was never layer out to me. I have to share and if you are not in the area....look for it-it is there for you!

The women who fitted me for the wig had mastectomy bras and prothesis options. I can't say how it changed my life! She fitted me with 4 bras and a prothesis-no one could ever tell I am missing a boob on one side! I can wear short sleeve shirts that make it easy to access my PICC line and feel so much better about myself. I have more confidence in public and it is making my journey less rough.

Here is the facility-Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville NJ. the woman who runs it is specially trained and such an amazing person! Her name is Lisa and I can't say enough good about her! I am getting ready to shave my head and rock my new wig! If you have benefits she will bill your insurance for the bras and prothesis. I just had to pay for my wig and submit that claim. She helped me with everything! The wigs are so affordable, in fact the one everyone fell in love with was the cheaper of the two I picked. The small comforts in this journey make the bumps a little less..........feel free to send me a private message with any questions.
