Concerned
Hi everyone, have not posted on these boards since 2005 I think. Original dx was stage 1, grade 3, no nodes, tripel negative. Anyway, I had 4 tx of red devil and opted out of taxal and the 34 tx of radiation. All has been good, about two or three years ago I had pain in back and groin area. Several dr. appt's later I am still hearing oh it is just arthritis don't worry. Well in the last 6 years my tumor markers were always 18-20 and 7 months ago they shot up to 38 and the groin pain is back. Onc still says arthritis with no scans. I missed my appt last month because I feel like he thinks I am a hypocondriact or something? I am afraid to make an appointment to get my tumor marker test and the groin pain is now like a muscle pull-sharp pains ( I think Fitztwins expressed that pain when she recurred). Anyway, I think I will make an appointment and demand a bone scan, I think I am just venting or want to tell someone what I am doing because DH wont listen either!!!!

Hi Brenda, no matter what the doc 'thinks' he/she can never be sure without scans! Demand that he/she follow this through even if it's just to rule out anything nasty. Please don't give up! I had the same sort of experience prior to be dx'd originally and yes I was made to feel like an attention seeker but eventually I was proven right. Fight for what you believe needs to be done! Good luck!

Thank you Chrissy, I need to hear that. Isn't sad why they make us feel that way. I was seriously thinking of going to a pain clinic for something for the pain?

I continue to get things checked out......I'm sure my doc gets sick of seeing me but I have a standing appointment every six weeks. I think he learned his lesson when I was proven right the first time now he listens closely to what I say and investigates.
If your pain is to the point that over the counter meds cannot control it you need to see a pain doc to get something that will. We do not need to live with pain when there are so many things that can get rid of it.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
