jinky, I'm surprised nobody has responded to your question.  I don't have statistics or references I can cite, but I've read here on the Boards that women have said their bone density (DEXA results) improved after they completed their AI therapy.  I wish I had some numbers I could quote.

Maybe someone will jump in here and offer some first-hand experience or clinical trial results.

    Hi Jinky....

I started a thread on that topic.  I am suspecting "yes" but you will need to exercise.  Check out the work of Dr Miriam Nelson (Strong Women) at Tufts.  The early work she did showed this even for women in their 90s! - Claire

I will finish up with AI's in January.  Although I walk about 25 minutes everyday, I probably should do more.  Does insurance ever help pay for exercise classes since exercise is a form of therapy or is that a dumb question?

"Does insurance ever help pay for exercise classes"

I'm afraid the days are long gone when insurance did anything extraordinary like this. However, some companies' employee benefits include gym memberships.

sflow.....You might want to check out the LiveSTRONG program at your local Y.  I have no idea about cost, but at least you would have a place to start.

Congrats on finishing the five years of AIs!!!  Also for walking every day.

The upper body work I do is really cheap.  I think my weights and exercise ball cost me less than $30 altogether.  I bought them about 2 years ago, and use them every week day.  Things don't get much cheaper.

It's the cycling gear that gets pricey.  To say nothing of the fact that new tires cost almost the same as car tires!  I need to start looking for a new reflective windbreaker as mine is getting very ratty looking.

And then, it's skiing season, or will be in a couple of weeks.  Oh, well. - Claire
