a drug that sounds like jim beam

Hi my sister has bone and liver mets. She's the second of 4 of us to be dignosed. She recently started a new chemo regimen with a drug she laughingly called jim beam. Not sure what its really called. But her pain has become intolerable and hands have been so swollen they've decided to stop. I'm so disressed as this is the first time in 3 years that she feels she is deteriorating. Has anyone else experienceof just not tolerating a particular drug?
