Hello sistas this board has been pretty quiet......... Almost 4 weeks out and just started back excercising beginning to feel a little better still sore and tired though Hope you are all doing well
-
Just survived four days of taking care of our three grandkids (ages 4, 6 and 8) while my DD and her DH went off to Vermont to celebrate their tenth anniversary. My soreness is gone, my skin is healed, and I'm feeling pretty good, all things considered!

I still have pain and numbness and I am about the same time out as you. I am also getting zingers - like someone put my nipple into an electric socket. Wow, those hurt.
Anyone else?
-
Although I am still pacing my every activity out of the house so I don't have to pay for it later, I am starting to feel a tad more energy every day this week. :-D
-
Yep I am 4 weeks out and feel like you ladies. They don't tell you about that do they??

I am new to the rads forum but have been over on the chemo forum since I began chemo on October 24th. I finished my 6th and final chemo treatment on February 7th. Just found out that my mapping is scheduled for February 29th but they have yet to schedule me for the actual radiation. She told me that the oncologist will do that when I go for mapping next week. She said it could be 1 to 2 weeks after mapping. That would put me 5 weeks after chemo. How soon did all of you start radiation after chemo was done? They don't seem to be in a hurry even though I am. I am hoping that I will handle radiation as good as I did chemo but do have some apprehension over it. This means we have to move out for the 7 weeks which is more depressing than the treatment but this too shall pass. I will be checking in here from time to time to see how you are all handling it and will post how I am handling it. Onto the next phase. Hormone therapy comes after. Best to all of you. Allagashmaggie - you might want to check out the February 2012 radiation discussion. Almost all of us finished a few weeks ago. You'll get more "real time" information from the ladies who are undergoing treatment around the same time as you. I finished chemo on 9/28 and had my first radiation treatment the last week of November. Your 5-6 weeks post chemo is pretty common timing.

Hi Everyone - I just posted this but since I am part of this group I thought I'd post here too. Just tonight I noticed a few brown spots on my areola - I'm about 2 mos. out of rads (had lumpectomy in Oct). I didn't have skin issues during or after rads but continue to use cream. Has anyone else gotten brown spots? I have about 3 and they are flat and not too big. I am now very worried going into the weekend and can't call my RO until Monday.
Anyone have brown spots or know if this is common following rads? I'll still get it checked but looking to ease my mind until I can talk to my RO. Thanks

Hi y'all: I started my 35 treatments on November 30th and finished on January 19th and I finally feel like I getting back to my new normal. I've been walking and trying to decide if the lack of exercise has been making me tired.
I am trying to work in more activity since I've been lax about it trying to get our business tax and personal tax stuff together to take to our accountant, closing out our end of year, etc.
So today I decided to use my new steam cleaner to clean the carpets. I got our big den done and it looks great. I got tired so I went to run errands and intended on cleaning the front room and hallway carpet but am just lazy I guess. It feels good to be tired from cleaning again. I find that my energy is coming back a little at the time.
A friend of mine said someone told her that if I drank Carnation Instant Breakfast (now Breakfast Essentials, lol) every day that I went to treatment and after until I had my energy level back up to pre-bc levels, I would bounce back quicker and I think it's been good for me to do that.
I just hate feeling tired especially since I have 9 million things to do before we have our annual Easter weekend reunion. Everyone comes here and we really have a great time. It will be extra special this year since I'm cancer free and my sister had a scare with her colon, so she is recovering from major colon surgery and is doing great. We have a lot to be thankful for this year.
Momma passed away on 12/31/06 so this bc has been hard since I know she would have been like a helicopter hovering over me but I like to think she would be proud of how I've handled this and is always sitting on my shoulder.
I hope everyone is getting stronger and getting back to your new normal!
((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))
