Of everything that I've gone through since my diagnosis this summer, I feel as though I'm facing the worst part now - deciding whether to preserve any eggs prior to starting chemo in the next month or two. I'm 42 and have always been a bit ambivalent about having kids for various reasons, but there's still a very strong desire to be a mother deep down. My boyfriend (who's a keeper for lots of reasons) isn't crazy about the idea of kids, but said this has to be a decision I make for me. There's no sign of menopause yet, but I'm anticipating that my period will not return after chemo.

Has anyone in their mid-40s chosen to save eggs, or gone through chemo and gotten their periods back? Any other advice? I know this is my choice alone, but it's such a painful one to make.
