IDC with Prominent Tubular Features

That's what it said on the biopsy. Anyone have the same?

Onc thinks it's a mixed tumor -- mix of grade 1 tubular and probably grade 2 IDC. But we won't know for sure until path report comes back.

Of course I'm praying it's mostly tubular which is less dangerous.

Sound familiar to anyone?

posy, since you haven't had any response yet, I thought I'd stop, mostly to bump your thread.

It sounds like you've already read up on tubular, which I believe is a form of IDC.  And you're right, tubular is normally very slow growing and the lesser concerning of the two.  I actually had a mixed or side by side IDC & ILC lesion, plus two smaller ILC lesions, plus a tiny tubular lesion.  So, while not exactly like yours, I know it's entirely possible to have more than one kind of bc at the same time, which really makes you wonder how things could go that haywire!

Good luck going forward!  I hope your path report has no further surprises and that you won't need chemo.   (((Hugs)))  Deanna

Thanks, Deanna. I wasn't really expecting anyone to answer because I guess having enough tubular to mention it on the biopsy is kind of rare. Supposedly a tumor has to be 80% tubular to be called a "tubular carcinoma." And only 2% of breast cancers are tubular. I'm PRAYING I'm one of them but not getting my hopes up. More likely I'm mixed, because tubular doesn't typically go over 2 cm. I'm just going a little crazy waiting for the path report so I can see exactly what I'm dealing with.

    I love your name! Smile
