Major Boobage and Tissue Expanders.....

Ladies - I'm scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy on November 8th, and have opted for immediate reconstruction, with tissue expanders put in for eventual saline implants down the road.

I've done a LOT of reading about the pain and discomfort of TEs, and I have a question:

Currently, I'm a 38DD. I wear underwire bras, and every single day I feel like I'm trapped in a too-tight bra. The wires dig in (wireless bras don't seem to hoist the girls up sufficiently), and my bosoms are, well, heavy and dense. And droopy. And did I mention they were heavy? I'm uncomfortable and in pain every day. I'd always dreamed of having the reduction surgery, but didn't.

 I've had visions of myself falling backward after the mastectomy, just because I'll lose my ballast....

I told my PS that I wanted to be smaller, and he said a C cup would be about right for me. Sheesh, I haven't worn a C cup since 6th grade.....

Oh, yeah, my question: Is it possible that the TEs won't be as dreadful as they are for some other women just because I'll be feeling such relief from not having the discomfort from my original breasts?

I think I'm mentally ready for the surgery, but of course, the imagination works overtime...
