Shadow on my lung

Has anyone had a shadow on their lung xray? I had bronchitis for 6 weeks and took a chest x ray and now they want to do a CAT scan only because I had breast cancer four years ago.  I don't think the doctor thinks it is a tumor but how do you keep from scaring yourself to death everytime you have something like this happen?

It sounds great that your doctor is willing to be aggressive in following up even on minor scares.

I don't know the answer on how to not scare yourself, other than to acknowledge that we will all die at some time.  live  life to the fullest, and don't let cancer or the fear of recurrence cheat you out of a single day or hour of living.  If recurrence happens, it will happen, and there's not a whole lot you can do about it at this point other than continue the recommended followups with your doctors, and report any troublesome symptoms that continue for more than 2 weeks.

Not meaning to scare you but I was diagnosed in Nov last year with BC. After lumpectomy I had all the scans and something showed up on my lungs..turned out to be another cancer not related to the breast...had lobectomy in June and as of my last scanin September NED either breast or lung. Did not have chemo or radiation but am on Femara. Has been a tough year........was terrified but everything is going good so far......it is amazing what we can handle......still have my days......hope all goes well for you.....I agree every little ache scares me too.
