Vitamins etc

Hi ladies,

 I've read different posts about what supplements and vitamins y'all are taking.

An item in the news just reported higher mortality in older women taking multi-vits.

My onc has recommended calcium and D- that's it. I also take a B complex. You? And if its less mainstream, what is your source?

mgm1953, I heard that too. I don't take supplements that have fillers, artificial  preservatives, soy, etc. They are all natural. I stay away from synthetic vitamins.

Many holistic practitioners are pointing to flaws in that study and the reporting of this study. The only thing I can think of is there must a bill that must be about to coming up for vote that pertains to legislating supplements. Or, some PR staff from one of the big Pharma companies has released this data to the press. Who knows? The only thing I know is that since I started taking supplements, my health has never been better. Will I die sooner? Maybe, but I can tell you that I tested like an elite athlete in terms of health reports at my last checkup..... I attribute 1/2 of that to my diet and supplementation methods.

I for one am a firm believer in vitamins.  I take a multi vitamin,along with 500 mil vit E, 500 mil vit C, and folic acid on a daily basis, since I had a mastectomy(left breast) five years ago.  My oncologist recommended Femara, but I passed on taking a chemo pill.  I do see my oncol. every 6 months tho.
