i feel so sad for her...when i read about it...i agree the one percent is for recurrence in the breast-not elsewhere. WHen it is early in the process i think the docs try to gloss over a lot of the facts we learn afterwards....that cancer free is a whole lot different then cured...that one threw me for a loop...oh well...bless her and I wish her nothing but the best

Not sure why, but for some reason I have been a little annoyed with the whole thing.  She went right back to work.  So did I.  I worked while I had chemo too.  It's like she is the only one in the world with BC.  There are plenty of us regular women who have it and who go through treatment worrying about insurance and bills and hoping your local area knows enough because you can't afford the best doctors.

Onecent....what you said is very true...there are millions of us out in the real world who just have to make it all work while doing what we have to do. I think what I get out of news of any celeb getting any dread disease is that for any of us that may have ever thought "Hmmm, if I was really really rich or really famous, I would somehhow be safe from life's bs"....and it just ain't true. As far as the best doctors aspect-I dunno, from what I have seen and heard, some of the so-called best big name docs aren't all that-they cherry pick who they will actually treat as to dovetail with whatever research focus they have. I had a very top onc from a very big name hospital tell me in a kinda sorta way you will be fine and you can keep in touch with me but you bc is not bad enough to warrant me treating it. When I asked for a referral to one of his peers, he shrugged and said a "regular" onc would be just fine to work with me ( he was leaving town to head up another new branch of said big name hopsital)..HAHAHAHAHA...while i think that was good news in one way it was amazing that there was almost a letdown on his part that i was not good research material-research studies have to compare apples to apples so to speak. He did take my p for research on some other study he was thinking of doing down the road.

this bastard of a disease is so damn random in its selection-both in diagnosis and outcome.

back to Guiliana Rancic....i am thinking she went back to work quickly in some ways like I did (although financially I had no choice but to)....it is one way of fighting back and saying you are not going to beat me....not today and not tomorrow...it kinda falls under the acting as if catagory or faking it til you make it....hell, i went back too early, in retorspect I should have said screw the bills and healed my soul a little better.
