    (((Hugs))) Roxy,

My gut says to find a new doctor if you can.  If your current one is not listening to you or blowing off your concerns it sure sounds like a change is in order.  Hopefully you can find someone more compasionate.

I wish I could help you w/the drug questions but I'm not familiar any of them except for Tamoxifen.

Let us know how you are doing, and CONGRATS of 4 years---keep on keepin on!!!

hugs.  i agree with sharon; i think getting a second opinion and a more compassionate doc might be helpful.  i

i had a friend who was on tamox then went to arimidex...had trouble with arimidex and switched to femara.  she is still on the femara and not having the side effects she had with the other two.,

congrats on 4 years.  i think deciding to stay on hormones or go off is pretty individual decision.

maybe you should have a consult with a cardio doc,  while i was arimidex my blood pressure went up and so did my cholestrol.  i took blood pressure meds while i was on the arimidex but since i have ended my treatment of the arimidex i am back to normal.  no pain..no hair thinning..no high blood pressure etc.

maybe femara could work for you.  but, yeah, get a second opinion maybe that would help,.

hang in there.  i know it is hard.  **** great on the 4 years*

I agree with the others, find a new doctor who listens to your concerns. I had this same problem except it was with a GI Doctor who literally almost killed me..  I was suffering with Cdiff & gastroparesis at the time but hadn't been diagnosed yet. I was having severe diarrhea, lower abdominal and rectal pain and nausea/vomitng. He was assigned to me after my regular doctor admitted me to the hospital to diagnose and treat me. He never did. And after  7 days, he discharged me and I was no better. the hospital told me to follow up with him w/i 7 days. Wehn I called to make the appointment, his office put me out for 4 weeks and said he was booked up. When I finally saw him, I told him I was still having all the symptoms and they were getting worse. He gave me another Rx for the same medication I'd been on the whole time and told me to see him in 3 months. But 2 weeks later, I got so bad that i called his office and they told me he wanted to schedule me for a barium swallow, and told me to fast from 12 midnight day before test.   I followed their instructions and when I got up the next morning to get ready to go to the hospital for the test, I was had gotten so weak I could hardly move around. The diarrhea was very bad and I kept having the dry heaves every few minutes. Through the grace of God, I managed to drive myself to the hospital, parked my car and made it to the front desk. I couldn't make it any farther, so a hopsital worker put me in a wheelchari and wheeled me to xray dept. I had to wait in their lobby for over a half hour while I kept dryheaving into a bucket I'd brought with me. When the xray tech came and took me back for the test, she took one look at me and said I was too sick to have the test done and they'd have to reschedule it when I was better. I LOST it. I started crying and told them I couldn't amke it back to my car so she wheeled me to the Emergency room and I was admitted from there to their telemitry unit becasue I'd become so dehydrated and had such a low potassium level they thought my heart might stop.  Turns his office gave me the wrong prep instructions for the barium swallow I never had. They were supposed to have me do clear liquids 24 hours in advance of the test. another doctor in his practice was assigned to me while I was in the hospital and he was able to determine I had Cdiff.  Turns out the other dr was giving me a type of antiobiotic for 10 days that helps to clear up colitis, which he thought I had.  He'd performed a colonoscopy when I was in the hsopital the first time but it was after I'd started this antibiotic so when he did the colonoscopy, it had killed enough of the bacteria so it didn't show up during the test, however, 10 days is not long enough to kill all the bacteria, so a week after I'd finish the medication, my symptoms would all return. After I got out of the hospital for the 2nd time, I called to make my follow up w/i 7 days and was told again that they had no openings. I told them I wanted to switch from Dr. Adams, to dr Hiatt, the one that finally was able to diagnose me and they office gave me a hard time about it, so I FIRED them and went to a new dr, which has been a godsend, not only was the new doctor able to kill all the c diff bacteria, the nausea and vomiting persisted and kept running me through tests to get to the bottom of it. Turns out I have Gastroparesis and that's another story.

but I learned the hard way, you have to be your own health advacate. If one of your doctors is not helping you, than find another who will.

I wish the best to you,

    take care,

    deb
