Hi Nancy,
I just don't get on the boards much anymore, but something made me come here tonight. There was the news about what you're experiencing. I'm really sorry this is happening. My fingers are crossed, too, as we all wait with you. Sending lots of hugs! G. -
ditto....hope all is well....

Hi Friends,I have liver cancer that has nothing to do with ILC. I have had four different scans and they can't locate the primary location. I'm going to have a colonoscopy followed by surgery to remove part of my liver. It is not what I wanted to hear but life goes on. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I will continue to fight and beat cancer.

Oh Nancy, we all know that the unknown, testing and waiting is the hardest part. This absolutely stinks. Deep breaths. Know that we are still all here for you. Please come back and update us. Sending you (((((Hugs))))). I hope that you have a plan in place soon.

Wish I could give you a hug. Words just don't do it at times. G.

Nancy,
Sorry, Stinking diease...hang in there. Words are difficult, because we all "know" how empty they sound.
-
Nancy, let's hope that the surgery will take care of this. Your liver is a remarkably resilient organ and can regenerate. I hope this is the end of it. Let's just say right now that it will be.

Hi everybody, this is my first post. I'm six months out of mastectomy of R breast during which 15 cm tumor was removed with good margins. 14 lymph nodes removed too, all positive. MRI and CT showed no organ involvement, but tiny sclerotic lesions on my pelvis and sternum. I've been on the oral Femara (Letrozole) for five months and also get a monthly Pamidronate IV. So far so good, onc happy with blood results so far, low tumor marker, (although she says this could mean nothing). I've heard through research and physician friend that the Pamidronate is not just a happy bone strengthener though, it's been seen in studies to promote spread of cancer cells in soft tissue. Since I'm on high adjunctive therapies (high dose vitamin c, huge medical doses of minerals and other vitamins...to boost my immune system...feel great right now), should I counter my oncologist and get off the Pamidronate and just stay on the Letrozole?
It's very confusing, if encouraging to read all these posts as uncertainty ahead sounds like my new reality. I just had a PET CT scan done at my own cost for my physician to be able to see the "activity in the bone spots" and found that there isn't any metabolic activity going on. Good news I thought, but my oncologist is kind of pissed off that I had this scan done and says it was useless. It's a very confusing terrain and I have to make a decision about the risk factors of taking Pamidronate or any of those bone strengthinging drugs. Any advice for a newbie?
