About a week ago my husband noticed a small lump in his armpit. Over the week it has grown to bigger than a golf ball.  On wednesday he didn't feel good, achy, sweats, fever.  Last night we went to the ER and they said it is a swollen lymph node.  They took blood and said everythink looked normal, especially his WBC. they said it is most likely an infection but  They wouldn't give him antibiotics.  They said he need to have a biopsy.  I am still in treatment for breast cancer and this is freaking me out just a a little, just wondering what you think.
Thanks

He needs to see his regular doctor as soon as they open. If it is an infection, then they need to do a culture and get him on antibotics.

I will pray it is not cancer.

It doesn't sound like a breast cancer presentation. The normal white count is odd cause if it were infection and fever you might expect that to be elevated. So definitely a doctor and thorough workup is needed. Hope he is ok soon!

Please ensure that he gets a biopsy.  When I was diagnosed (see my profile for my story), my counts were normal.  I have had my lump for 8+ years, and numerous blood tests that never caught the BC.

I hope that he does not have BC, but please make sure he gets checked.  I waited, per what the doctors said, and now I am Stage IV.

If you want to talk more, please let me know.

    Eric
