I can't find the 'contact' button.

This thread in Stage 3 about Steve Jobs and his liver transplant is soooo mean and contains a lot of misinformation.  I don't know that it should continue.  you can't tell lies about dead people is how i see it.

I found it kind of sad myself.

I agree it is sad and some are quite mean spirited. Not one of us was a part of his family or medical team so we can't place any judgements on him. And besides, what does it have to do with Stage III BC??

    Mods -

Yes, please feel free to delete it and if you do, delete my account too.

cmblastic - I'm Stage III and that's where I put it.  Sorry.  Considering we're just a small step away from Stage IV a discussion regarding ones ability to get a liver transplant might seem relevant to some.

A discussion about ability to get a liver transplant is a good topic. The bashing of the now deceased Jobs just seems wrong IMO.

Okay D4 ... I guess I should have said the ability to get a liver transplant or the LACK THERE OF because cancer patients with mets to the liver are not, to my knowledge, generally approved.

My point is not to "bash" Jobs it is to bash or, more accurately, question the system that allowed it for one and not another.

there is a difference between end stage liver disease which is frequently fatal quickly and liver mets from breast cancer.. I know of a woman in KC who received a transplant.  She is doing well.  I don't know the medical protocol but do know that liver transplantation is not usually allowed or suggested in stage 4 people... a waste of a good liver from what I understand.  I know a guy who has actually gotten 2 transplants.. the first failed. - so i don't know too much really.

Plant Lover - I would not be insulted or leave because of the opposition to the thread.   Everyone has a right to rant here and rants are welcomed and understood.  it's just that he just died.

I'm sorry if I've caused you any distress.

    Hey All

The thread Steve Jobs & his Liver Transplant focused on the financial ability of Steve Jobs to obtain the liver transplant.  Since it was more about financial issues than stage of disease, the thread has been moved to the forum Insurance and Other Financial Issues.

We also want to remind everyone to please remain respectful.

    RIP Steve Jobs
