How many of you received, or didn't receive, regular physical breast exams from your healthcare provider? (Family Dr., Nurse Practitioner, Gyn. etc)

I am having a hard time finding screening recommendations for young women under 40 on Canadian websites (cancer.ca and some provincial sites).  I am trying to figure out why that is?!

i had regular breast exams. my family doc, however, was woefully ignorant of breast health. he knew my family hx (mother died @59, maternal aunt @ 44, maternal great-grandmother @ 41), and STILL INSISTED i needed mammos only every 3 years. what the fuck?

never asked me about the BRCA gene. i tried to get tested about a decade ago, but the HMO refused and i couldn't afford the $5000.

it just pisses me off. i feel like i was duped by my family doc.  but that's life - others have a worse go. i try not to let it get me down.

My GP has been giving me clinical breast exams on every annual physical since I was in my 20s, or maybe early 30s. He sent me for my first mammo around age 45. I've had annual ones from age 49 onwards.

Because mammos are less reliable on the (typically) denser breast tissue of younger women, clinical exams are really important in that age group... and self-awareness too.
