Nuelesta/Claritin

I have read that clartin helps with the bone pain from the nuelesta shot but when do you take the claritin,  do you take it before you get the shot and if so how far in advance? Thank you.

martygra, i've taken the claritin before nuelasta and i've had no side effects.  i take the first one an hour before the shot and then one a day for 4 or 5 days.  at my last treatment, i took one the day before my shot as well!  (just extra protection!!)  i've had three treatments so far and the shot hasn't bothered me at all.  good luck!

I think the Neulasta shot was worse than the actual chemo for me :( I tried the Claritin but it didn't save me from the bone pain. I have read where lots of women on these boards find it to be effective though. I hope you are one of them!!!

I took the claritin the day before and like YaYa, took one a day for 4 or 5 days. It helped a lot. I know that because I didn't take it the first time and I had terrible pain. After that I used the Claritin.
