I thought this was encouraging from the UCSF website on dcis.  I like to read things like this when I need to gain perspective.  Thought I'd share.

 Studies have shown that women diagnosed with DCIS are often in better health overall than those without a diagnosis of DCIS, and their risk of dying of all combined causes of mortality, including cancer, is lower than that of the general population.

Not saying that anyone should want to be diagnosed with this, and of course, they are referring to people who have undergone standard treatment.
