Hi ladies
Sandi - you sound like such a patient woman. I'm sure you must be frustrated with the continued waiting for everything, including being able to visit with your dear grandchildren. Well at least you have an appt with a rad onc….I'm sure you'll see an oncologist very soon also. Once you meet with the oncs then you'll know what the treatment plan is and get your head wrapped around what's next. Hoping you won't have to wait much longer for the appts. And really hope your incision heals up soon.
Ladybug - glad to hear your path report was clear. Hope you're enjoying your Tremblant retreat. Chance is heading up there on Thursday til Sunday. Praying that he behaves and actually does some skiing. The good news for me is that DH and I will be at home without kids for 4 days:)
Red - Are your girls in private school? Is that why they have 2 weeks March break? Too bad you had to miss your fill appt today.
Michele - guess your house is pretty quiet with DH and your son. His trip sounds great. My daughter went to Europe when she was in high school and one of the teachers would post blog updates and pics everyday….it was nice to get updates on what they were up to.
Not much new with me. Work is crazy so that's keeping me busy. I'm still not in love with my implants but I'm getting used to them and in a bra they look pretty good…..what more could I ask for? I think I've decided not to do nips or tatoos. It's a nice feeling knowing that I"m done with it all.
Michele - are you happy with your DIEP results?
-
yes, I am pretty happy. I still have some scabs that just don't want to fall off. I went to the gym for the first time tonight. I couldn't do all the exercises I use to, but I guess it will come. I am not sure if I want to do nip and tat. I kinda just want to be done. My dh doesn't care either way.
-
Mich - yes my girls are in private school.
I just booked my 1st cruise for next yr, Disney cruise yay!!! Can't wait
Hope everyone is doing well -
The dreaded gym…good for you. I haven't been for years but really need to!! I keep procrastinating. I keep hoping the weight/fat will just miraculously disappear. My DH doesn't care either about nips/tats so really, if I don't care either, then why bother. I keep thinking that down the road if/when I need implant replacements (they don't last forever), if the new implants end up in different positions than the current ones, then I'll end up with nips/tats in the wrong location.
Red - the cruise sounds great. When we were in Cozumel I saw the Disney ship docked in the marina and imagined how much fun the kids must be having on their trip.
-
Red, how fun. Sounds like a dream.
-
Mich.....don't be silly. You have no fat and are gorgeous! I agree about the tats.
Red...how wonderful for you! -
Ladies ...did I tell u I'm a big kid. Logos I can't wait for the cruise.
It's stops at Cozumel and castaway which isa private island owned bydisney -
There's a decent amount of shopping at the port in Cozumel and some nice spots for lunch. The Margaritaville restaurant is fun…it's on the waterfront so you can sit on the patio for lunch and just jump in the water when it gets too hot.
Ladybug - you're very kind, but I have LOTS of fat to spare….I should have considered the DIEP more seriously.

Are any of you Ottawa area ladies on Arimidex and without a drug plan? If so, please PM me.

Hi all
Hope you've all been enjoying the beautiful weather we've had.
Just wanted to let you know that I'm planning on leaving BCO. I'm grateful for the advice and support I've received here during the past couple of years. I'm now in a good head place where I feel that my BC journey is done and over with. Although BC has significantly impacted my life, I no longer feel that it defines me.
Because I stupidly chose a username that is too similar to my real name, I've sent a message to the mods asking that they delete my name and posts. Not sure if/when they can do that, but wanted to send this message now in case I get deleted.
Anyway, just wanted to say that you're all in my prayers. I wish nothing but the best for you. My home email is 'mctiernan0303@rogers.com' , if ever you want to connect.
Take care all
-
Mich, we will for sure miss you ...but I do understand. Sometimes I think of doing that too, move on. In the end I never do.
-
The mods got back to me and said that if I delete my username it would also delete the posts from others who have posted messages to the threads I started (there's only a few but I hate to delete other posters). So I changed my username to Kyta (non identifiable)……but still plan to bow out of BCO.
Take care Michele:)

First day back at work. 12hr shift on feet. 9hrs into it and my feet are sitting in bags of ice! Otherwise, doing great!
-
Ladybug, I wondered how work was going. Sorry about your feet giving you grief.
Red, glad to read things are going a bit easier for you.
Hope all are enjoying this rapid weather change. One day we need a/c, the next day we neat heat.
-
Thanks Sharon. Still hope to get out and visit sometime,
-
Ladybug what do you do that keeps you on your feet for 12 hours..
-
Emergency nurse. Our unit's design was naturally made for the doctors. All the counters are bar style. We have stools, but they are a pain because they roll away whenever you try to sit on them, and don't adjust.
I am hoping to sit at triage today so it will be better. -
I always wondered but was afraid to ask...what is triage? At which hospital?
-
Michele, see PM.
-
LOL ladybug, I PM'ed her too (about triage) but it was more to do with my crush on Alan Alda when he was on M.A.S.H. You gals are too young to remember.
-
No I'm not! I loved A.A too!! And Clinger was a hoot.
-
Hi all,
What a beautiful day! I just got back from a drive in the country; on the back roads, by the lakes. So calming, peaceful and brings life into you.
I saw both oncologists last week. I get port-a-cath in Monday and start chemo and herceptin on Thursday. It sounds like I'll have a new hairstyle or lack of in May. I better learn how to tie a bandana.
I hope you are all doing well.
Take care.

Hey everyone!
Had my partial mastectomy two weeks ago. Everything went well but the pain was more than I had anticipated. I am still feeling a bit of pain in the tissue surrounding my breast. The good news is that my margins were clear and both lymph nodes that were removed were clear. I am now waiting to hear from the cancer clinic for my next appointments.

Rachel, good to hear your surgery went well. Hope your pain is lessening. Are you taking anything for it? I had my appointments with the oncologists last week. Did you get your pathology report? I didn't have it with radiation Inc, but got a copy before I saw medical onc. I found it helped me be more aware of my diagnosis. The oncology teams, nursing staff and volunteers are very nice. I start chemo and herceptin tomorrow. Best wishes. Take care.
Ottawa ladies, where'd you go? I hope everyone is doing well.
Happy Spring!!! -
Sandi, hello. I have been reading but not posting so much..Good luck today with chemo. It is not to bad. I hope it goes smoothly for you.
-
Hi Drafonfly!
I am taking Tylenol x-strength for the pain. I asked my surgeon for a copy of path. report so I have studied it over and over. I am armed with many questions for the oncologists.
Good luck with your treatment.
-
Got my appointments with the Cancer Clinic. My radiation oncologists is Dr.El-Sayed and my medical oncologists is Dr. Dent. Anyone else have them as their dr?
-
Rachel11 How long did you have to wait to get your appts? I just saw the surgeon last Thursday and have now begun the next waiting period. I was seen at the WBHC. Good luck with figuring our this next stage.
