need estrogen...

1.5 yrs ago i was diagnosed with triple negative idc breast cancer - it was in my left breast - so my husband and I decided (actually me) that I would have a bilateral mastectomy. Didn't want to mess with this stuff again.

I've also had a total hysterectomy - my problem is my vagina is as dry as the sahara - and i need estrogen... Since the BC was triple negative - that shouldn't be a problem, right? my medical oncologist doesn't like the idea - but this is seriously affecting my love life

thanks

Hi sister, same boat, I was given Vagifem, supposedly the only one of these drugs approved for dry vagina.

    Gentle hugs, Shirlann

Oh, another thing that worked really well was Replens, get it at Walmart, about half price.

Hi I just wanted to add to this thread (same boat). My doctor was against any form of estrogen... even though I'm TN. She recommended replens and also this stuff called "Creme de la Femme". I have to say that it worked, but it takes a while. (Like-- give it a good 2 weeks or so.) I'm pretty much in full-on menopause (at age 38) Yell but this stuff helped me.
    Good luck!

Thanks for the information.... I went to the GYN to see what he thought - he prescribed EString. Haven't inserted it yet as my Oncology appt isn't until the end of the month - wanted to talk it over with her... but have started the suggestions above... thanks again
