I did an MBSR program where I am.  Wish I meditated more and sometimes I am so anxious that it's just really difficult to do, but even the little meditation that I do effects how I see my life.  I think it's an incredible experience beyond the stress reduction.

lovegolf, could you post the title? for me, that link is showing a list of seemingly random books. (like The Help). FWIW, I've been attending a 'healing imagery' class and that definitely reduces my anxiety level (and helps me get a good night's sleep)

I have meditated for years, and I use guided visualizations all the time.  There are some excellent ones on YouTube for pain management (they really work) and for sleep disorders, anxiety, and just improving your overall 'feeling'.  I don't know where I would be without my daily meditation, my alone time with myself and my God (Prayer is talking to God...Meditation is listening to God).

If you would like some links to YouTube guided visualization meditations, let me know and I'll post, but you can just enter "Guided Meditation for Pain", or "Meditation for Sleep", "Meditation for Healing", etc in the search box too.   Michael Mackenzie has some great stuff and so does Robert Gorick too, but his english accent is hard sometimes to 'get into', but I'm from Texas...LOL

Thanks Lovegolf, I found the book by googling the title keywords in your message.

    Leaves Falling Gently
Living fully with Serious and Life-Limiting Illness through Mindfulness, Compassion, and Connectedness

    By author: Susan Bauer-Wu Ph.D., R.N.

I love the title and will take a closer look at it. I've been thinking about doing meditation since reading David Servan-Shreiber's Anticancer book.
