Hey All,

I'm asking this on behalf of my sister who's not familiar with using net forum. Yeah I know, she doesn’t know what Facebook is either!!! Anyways my sister had a mastectomy earlier this year and now has an appointment with Dr. Brett Beber for reconstruction surgery.

We’re wondering if anyone out there has any experiences with Dr. Beber? Please send PM if you don’t feel comfortable posting publicly. Any help will be much appreciated as we really have no clue how to pick a surgeon!

Dr. Zhong seems to be highly recommended here, but the waiting time seems prohibitive. If you’ve had good experience with other reconstruction surgeon in Toronto, please let us know too. Thanks so much for your help. Wishing everyone good recovery and good health !!!

He is my Surgeon and I just love him. I had the tissue expanders placed last October and and I am having the (bilateral) exchange surgery next week. (It was my choice to wait a year). He is a very sweet and caring doctor. He has done a wonderful job and I am very happy with the results. The pre-op nurse told me at Toronto General East that his patients rave about him and often lift their tops to show his work.  I highly recommend him.

Or you can meet his Colleague Dr Mitchell Brown, He is amazing and is rated as one of Canada's top reconstruction surgeons. He works in the same office as Dr. Beber and works out of Womens College Hospital. I had my bilateral mastecomy with Dr Brown and have my exchange next year once chemo is somewhat completed.
