BMX with sensitivity on DCIS side

I'm 6 months out and had BMX(R side DCIS, L side prophylaxis ) Not sure I spelled that right! Anywho, my left side has healed lovely and my incision is dark brown(I'm black, thus the color!) and isn't sensitive at all. My DCIS side has healed fine...but the incision is more light brown to slight pink and can be sensitive. Like when water hits it when I shower. Just wondering if anyone else has experience this? Is this norm. I asked my surgeon at my 6mo check and he said it looked fine. Thing is that side also had Paget's disease so I'm worried that what if some cells are still present even tho the nipples are gone? Am I being overly worried? ANY  THOUGHTS would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Shannon,  mine isn't sensative, just numb.

Well I don't have the sensation like normal. It's numb too. Guess I can call it a hyper sensitivity like when the shwer water hits it or I run my finger along the incision line. It also looks different in terms of how the incision healed from the non-cancerous side. Think there's more scar tissue or a wider incision line. The non cancercous side is more a straight, thin line. Hard to describe. But numbness present in both!

Hi Shannon,

 I had similar feelings around my nipple after lumpectomy.  The incision was about 2" around my nipple, and for a while it made my nipple supersensitive and painful, whenever it touched my clothes or in the shower as well.  I wonder if nerve damage might be to blame.  In your case, perhaps nerves were more damaged on the cancerous side. 

 I can relate to the scars, I am brown skinned and have large dark scars following my reduction surgery 5 years ago.  If I would have known what was coming, I would have elected to have the extreme reduction done then and saved myself all the cancer stress now.
