Met a 34 year Survivor today!

I just HAD to post this!!! I was shopping at my local Goodwill and the clerks there were asking me about my breast cancer surgery/journey. An older lady in line overheard our conversation. As I turned to walk away she approached me and said, "I heard your conversation and I just want to tell you I'm a 34 year breast cancer survivor myself! I was 41 yo when I was diagnosed. My youngest child of 4 children was in 1st grade. I had the bad kind. It had spread.  I had a mastectomy and chemo for a year. I prayed to just let me see my kids grow up. Now my oldest has given me 4 grandchildren I've seen grow up! I've even outlived my husband! When I had cancer I'd have ones tell me they were a 10 year survivor and I felt that was so encouraging. So I just want you to know it's been 34 years for me!" Then she asked me for my name to include me in her prayer list! THIS MADE MY DAY!!!! 34 years!!!!!

That is sooo encouraging to hear about the 34 yrs suvivor.  My brother-in-law's "late" ex-wife was a 30 years survivor.  She passed away last year due to heart attack.   I also have a classmate who is a 11th year survivor, she had partial mast, chemo and rads.  

It is very encouraging indeed!
